Waterfalls Agua Azul in Chiapas

The Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá rivers, in the Chiapaneco municipality of Tumbalá, form vertical cliffs in their canyons, through which beautiful blue-blazed waterfalls emerge, the Agua Azul waterfalls.

The beautiful blue color comes from the carbonates that dissolve in the water along its course. The paradisiacal framework of the place is complemented by the intricate surrounding foliage. Access to the site is on the road that connects San Cristobal de las Casas with Palenque.
